Frequently Asked Questions – Villa Maria Guadalupe Retreats

  • What does the retreat cost?

Villa Maria Guadalupe accepts donations for each retreat, so there is no “cost.” If it is helpful, the total expense per person for one weekend is about $200. We are grateful for whatever you are willing and/or able to give!

Upon confirming your registration, we will ask for a $50 nonrefundable deposit. More details about this deposit will be provided once your registration is confirmed.*

Our hope is that each person the Lord is calling to a retreat will experience great peace and freedom in coming to Villa.

*Exceptions: If you feel you are unable to make the $50 deposit, please call us at 203-329-1492. There are scholarships available and we’d be very happy to speak with you!

  • May I come to the retreat late / leave early?

A retreat is a very graced time, a sacred space from start to finish for you to encounter the Lord. Out of reverence, we ask that anyone planning to come on retreat make arrangements to attend the whole weekend.*

Retreats at Villa Maria Guadalupe begin with dinner on Friday night at 6:30pm, and conclude after Mass and brunch on Sunday. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly.

*Exceptions: The Lord deeply desires to meet you on retreat! If you feel you have a unique /exceptional circumstance, please call us at 203-329-1492. We’d be very happy to speak with you!

  • How often may I come on retreat at Villa Maria Guadalupe?

In the Catholic tradition, it is customary to make an annual retreat. Due to the great interest of women for retreats hosted by the Sisters of Life, we ask that you attend only one retreat during our retreat season from September through June.

  • Is it worth registering for the waitlist?

In our busy and unpredictable world, retreatants sometimes have to cancel. We do ask people to let us know as soon as possible if they are unable to attend a retreat, so we are often able to call a number of people on the waitlist.

  • I didn’t make it on this retreat; am I automatically added to the waitlist for the next retreat?

No. Our waitlist does not “roll-over” to the next upcoming retreat. If we were not able to invite you on a retreat or you had to cancel, please register for another retreat.

  • Which retreat is appropriate for me?

Please review the retreat descriptions on our retreat schedule page.
