Villa Maria Guadalupe- Retreats
Even before the Sisters of Life existed, a retreat house was envisioned for the community. Thanks to the generosity and vision of the Knights of Columbus under Supreme Knight Carl Anderson and the support of Supreme Chaplain Bishop William E. Lori, Bishop of Bridgeport, Connecticut, that vision became a reality.
Located in picturesque Stamford, Conn., Villa Maria Guadalupe sits on the top of a hillcrest surrounded by acres of grounds providing a tranquil getaway for prayer and reflection from the noise and bustle of the city.
The retreat house hosts Evenings of Recollection, educational seminars on life issues and retreats for everyone (themes include Theology of the Body, Young Adult Retreats, Post-Abortion Healing, and retreats on the Dignity and Vocation of Women).
Come aside and rest for awhile in the peaceful presence of Our Eucharistic Lord – let Him nourish and renew you in His strength and mercy.
Villa Maria Guadalupe is an international retreat center of the Knights of Columbus operated by the Sisters of Life.
The Sisters offer retreats, educational opportunities, seminars and weekend programs for young adults, married couples, families, priests and religious. All are centered on the Eucharist and draw from the liturgy and teachings of the Catholic Church.
The rest, quiet and prayer at Villa Maria strengthens retreatants, deepens their spiritual lives and helps them to more fully be “people of life and for life”.
The establishment of Villa Maria Guadalupe as a spiritual home for the pro-life community is a response to Pope John Paul II’s call for a “great campaign in support of life” in his encyclical, Evangelium Vitae. It will be a lasting tribute to the Holy Father’s dedication to the Gospel of Life.
A sanctuary of renewal, hope and mercy under the protection of the Blessed Mother, Villa Maria Guadalupe promises to play a unique and integral role as the spiritual foundation of the Culture of Life.
